Reaching an agreement as to fees is an essential part of the treatment process. The following information is offered so that you may have a clear understanding of treatment costs and therapists expectations.

Unless otherwise agreed, the therapy session is 50 minutes in length, which leaves 10 min. for the therapist to write his note. Weekly appointments are the usual pattern; however, after the intake process is complete, the team determines the frequency and length of sessions, based on what individual design is needed for each family.

Our usual policy is to collect the full fee up front at the beginning of each session. We have a sliding scale from $60.00 to $90.00 per hour, depending on income, if you do not have insurance and are not covered by a managed care. Student discounts for college students are $45 per hour. If you are claiming insurance benefits, it is still customary to collect the full fee in advance and to give you a billing statement to help you file for insurance reimbursement yourself. There may be some exceptions depending on the limitations and expectations of your insurance policy or managed care provider. If you are a managed care client, your co-payment, if any, is due at the beginning of each session.

Missed or canceled appointments will still be charged, unless 24-hour notice is given. We are available 24 hrs per day through our answering service and emergency beeper.

Normal business hours of the Center are 9AM-9PM. Any messages left before 9PM during the week will be returned the same day. Any messages left after 9PM will be returned the following day. If you have an emergency, please call our beeper at (336) 218-3853 and leave either a digital or voice message and we will return your call as soon as possible. This is a 24-hour-a-day number. If you leave a voice message, make sure it includes your name and the number where you can be reached. Please speak clearly and distinctly! We don't want to miss your message. Should you speak with the therapist on-call for more than 5 minutes, this will be considered therapy, and you will be charged one dollar for each additional minute. Most after hours calls are handles within a short time frame. If we cannot be reached and you are in extreme crisis, call Guilford Co. Mental Health Center, Crisis Emergency Unit, at (336) 641-4993.

We receive our referrals from school counselors, ministers and religious persons, other therapists, yellow page advertising, managed care and insurance companies, and satisfied customers. We believe the best advertising comes from providing quality care to our clients and having them spread the word about our services to others.
